Client stories: Another celebration for MMP, Barhale and Thames Water.
MMP Marine & Inspection are proud to have completed another high pressure job for Barhale and Thames Water.
Here at MMP Marine & Inspection, we have had the privilege of working with Barhale Ltd since summer 2019 - in that time, we have supported the UK’s leading civil engineering specialist on a number of demanding and challenging projects: not least, the most recent project with them and Thames Water.
The project required the MMP team to install three 2.4 metre diameter isolation plates for Barhale and Thames Water; a crucial job that would enable Barhale to complete a critical component of the water treatment process.
MMP surveyed the valve inlet, designed and fabricated the three isolation plates for Barhale and Thames Water.
Each composite isolation plate weighed 500kg, each 2.5 metre diameter plate was an in-house design, fabrication, the installation would require a six man commercial dive team. Luckily, this wasn’t a problem, and we quickly got to work preparing and updating the team on all the details needed to kick off the job.
And it was an important job. The isolation plate was needed so that Barhale could enter the reservoir tunnels and clean them. Without this, millions of Londoners would have had their water impacted as it is a key water source for the city. By providing Barhale with the space and means to enter the tunnel safely, the water treatment process could continue running smoothly.
The job was delivered on time and in a safe, efficient manner - the core pillars of every single service here at MMP.
