Client stories: Tunnels, isolations and concrete welds - another job well done for MMP & Barhale.
2020 may have brought with it a great deal of uncertainty, but one thing that has remained the same is MMP’s exceptional relationship with Barhale Ltd.
Since joining forces (as their approved supplier) with Barhale in summer 2019, MMP Marine & Inspection has enjoyed an excellent partnership full of high-end jobs with the UK’s leading civil engineering specialist.
We were recently brought in to collaborate on a project for Thames Water; a project that required a vast range of tools and capabilities.
We were chosen to install four primary and secondary isolations for Thames Water. The job was crucial in order to enable the below tunnels to be cleaned without the risk of flooding.
Of course, this was a project that required the utmost safety systems and attention to detail - the smallest mistake could lead to major and dangerous complications.
Luckily, safety is what we do best here at MMP Marine & Inspection. It is always at the forefront of our agenda and something we pride ourselves on.
As part of this high pressure job, the team surveyed the inlets and fabricated the seals before installing the isolations. To do this, we used:
Concrete welding
Lift bags
Specialist divers
Our own Remotely Operated Vehicle
The final result was a safe environment for the tunnels to be cleaned efficiently and within time constraints.
We’d say that’s a big success story!
